Rialto Zum Tal, Idstein

Idstein, Germany — A timber-frame or “half-timbered” building, seen at night in Idstein’s Altstadt (“Old Town”). Situated on Idstein’s Marktplatz at Am Hexenturm, it now houses the Rialto Zum Tal, an Italian restaurant, ice cream parlor, and pasticceria.

Because of its well-preserved, historic Altstadt, Idstein is part of the Deutsche Fachwerkstraße (“German Timber-Frame Road”), which connects towns with fine timber-frame buildings and houses.
